Since iOS 4.2 Apple introduced the ability to assign a specific ringtone to each person in your address book for both SMS and for phone calls.
1. Tap Address Book
2. Open a contact
3. Tap Edit
4. Scroll and find the fields ‘text tone’ and ‘ring tone’ and assign your chosen tones to each.
5. Tap Save
